Why We Built Àlá: Dreams Deserve to Be Remembered
There's a moment most people know but rarely talk about.
You wake up. The dream was right there — vivid, strange, emotionally charged. You lie still, trying to hold onto it. But within minutes, it's gone. A few fragments. A feeling. Nothing else.
We built Àlá because we think that loss is worth caring about.
Dreams are the most private thing you have
No algorithm has seen them. No one has liked or shared them. They belong entirely to you — and because of that, they're one of the last genuinely honest things about you.
But they're also fleeting. The average person forgets 95% of their dreams within 10 minutes of waking. A lifetime of subconscious processing, night after night, mostly lost.
What if you could hold onto them?
Àlá starts simple: voice-record or type your dream the moment you wake up. Before the fragments disappear.
From there, our AI gives you a gentle interpretation — not a rigid clinical analysis, but a curious, exploratory reading of what your subconscious might be working through. Think of it less like a diagnosis and more like a thoughtful friend asking questions you hadn't considered.
The social layer nobody built
Here's the part that surprised us in early research: people want to share their dreams. Not to be judged. Not to build a following. Just because there's something intimate and human about hearing that a stranger had the same recurring nightmare you've had since childhood.
So we built a sharing layer designed from the ground up to feel safe:
Who this is for
Àlá is for anyone who's ever woken up from a dream that felt important and had nowhere to put it.
It's for the person who's been having the same dream for 10 years and wants to understand it. The one who had a nightmare so vivid they couldn't shake it. The one who had a beautiful dream they wish they could share without feeling strange about it.
It's not for influencers. It's not for content. It's for the quiet, strange interior life that most apps were never designed to hold.
We're still in beta, keeping the first group very small on purpose. If this resonates with you, join the waitlist — the first 20 people get a Founding Dreamer badge that lives on their profile forever.
Keep dreaming. We'll find you.
